Sales Assistant
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: PET CONNECTION Working in a busy retail environment to provide excellent customer service, including serving customers, handling payments, displaying products and maintaining cleanliness. Ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. Till operation and team work to support other staff members. We are hoping to train up the successful candidates on as many aspects of the business that they wish to learn, i.e. ordering stock, dealing with representatives etc. Serving customers using electronic till system, processing card payments, receiving deliveries and stock rotation. General housekeeping. Assisting customers with queries. May include lifting of heavy products i.e. bags of dog food etc.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and assist with product information, sales, and service queries.
- Operate the till and point-of-sale systems, handling payments and receipts.
- Restock shelves, maintain display areas, and assist with stock checks and deliveries.
- Help with general administrative tasks such as answering phones, data entry, and client communication.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, presentation, and professionalism within the store.
- Working as part of a small team in a family run business.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Basic numeracy skills to count money etc.
- Good communication skills.
