Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of service users mental health needs.
- Be responsible for identifying and implementing the most appropriate therapeutic interventions to meet these needs.
- Work alongside the ward and community staff to identify service user’s needs and deliver the therapeutic interventions.
- To work as part of the therapeutic hub’s multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services for inpatients on the mental health wards.
- Service users recently discharged from the mental health wards, service users living in the community and carers/families.
- To provide therapeutic interventions to carers and families.
- To provide therapeutic interventions to service users living in the community.
- To provide therapeutic interventions which will help rehabilitate patients, facilitate early discharge from hospital and support patients post discharge.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level one Registered Mental Health Nurse (on live NMC Register).
- 2 years post registration experience within a mental health setting.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car is essential.
- This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
Desirable Skills
- Voluntary and community support services for Older Peoples Mental Health.
- Knowledge of relevant Trust policies and models of working in relation to Older Peoples Mental Health.
- Experience of delivering psychological therapies on an individual and group basis.
- Mental Health Registered Specialist Practice Course.
