THE EMPLOYER IS: THE RAINBOW PROJECT The Rainbow Project is seeking an administrative assistant to support our policy and campaigns work. The Policy & Campaigns Assistant would work closely with the wider Policy, Campaigns & Communications team, supporting The Rainbow Project's work to progress the rights of LGBTQIA plus people in Northern Ireland. The Policy & Campaigns Assistant will help organise events, meetings, and conferences focused on progressing The Rainbow Project's policy and campaigns, while supporting the PCC Manager to keep track of relevant issues raised in the NI Assembly and Westminster. The Assistant will conduct other administrative tasks as required, including data collection and logging as well as supporting our Communications Coordinator with social media management.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the organising of meetings, events and campaign actions.
  • Responding to emails, calls and social media engagement regarding The Rainbow Project's policy and campaigns work.
  • Liaising with external partners on policy and campaigns as required.
  • Monitoring Assembly Questions, Committees and Order Papers for issues relevant to The Rainbow Project's policy and campaigns.
  • Conducting administrative tasks including collecting and logging campaign supporters' data.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple competing demands.
  • An understanding of LGBTQIA plus rights and issues affecting LGBTQIA plus communities.

Desirable Skills

  • A working knowledge of national and local political structures.
  • Experience of policy and campaigns work, either paid or voluntary.
  • Experience of social media engagement and/or graphic design.
