Job description

The post holder will be aligned to Redwood Children’s Learning Disability Home and will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary group across the Children’s Disability Service to provide flexible, timely, responsive residential care to our service users, who are children and young people with learning disability and/or behavioural needs, who require this type of support. These service users may engage in self-injurious behaviours and could have increased levels of anxiety and impulsive dysregulated presentations that can be linked to their learning disability and / or trauma. Under the supervision of the Registered Manager / Team Leader, the post holder will undertake a range of duties allocated to their role, ensuring the needs of service users are met to a high standard in the home and that the care is person centred, safe, effective and compassionate as per the Children’s Home regulations and guidance. Redwood Children’s Disability Residential Home is based on a social care model which focuses on a trauma informed approach, engaging the Positive Behaviour Support Model and My Safety Intervention practices. Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree, diploma or other nursing qualification allowing registration with NMC.
• 2 years post-registration experience at Band 5 or above.
