Job description

The General Operative is responsible for carrying out a range of duties within the manufacturing process. This role involves operating and monitoring production machinery, handling raw material, assisting with quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and clean manufacturing and production lines according to standard operating procedures.
• Package finished products into containers and move them to designated storage areas.
• Use lifting equipment, such as forklift, to move goods and raw materials. (Training will be provided).
• Report any issues with machinery, raw material quality, or production to a supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety directives and process sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic numeracy skills for measuring materials.
• Ability to operate and control equipment.

Desirable Skills

• Physical Fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of or experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment is desired but not required.
