IT & Print Support Engineer


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: PCR BUSINESS SOLUTIONS LTD This is a fantastic opportunity for someone starting their career in IT who wants real hands-on experience across multiple technologies - printers, networks, cloud systems and PCs - all within a friendly, forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line technical support via phone, email, remote access and ticket system.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software and network issues across PCs, printers, and servers.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts, devices, and applications (e.g. Microsoft 365).
  • Support installation and configuration of office printers, routers and PCs on client sites.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Escalate complex issues to 2nd line support or senior engineers as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and internal staff IT setups.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of Windows systems, software and networks.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge through training.
  • GCSEs or equivalent; IT-related studies are beneficial but not essential.
  • Preferably full current UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Access to your own vehicle for client visits (mileage paid).
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 and network troubleshooting.
  • Any hands-on experience setting up computers, printers or networks (personal, school or voluntary).
  • Basic IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA ITF plus, Google IT Support, or equivalent).
  • Genuine interest in IT, printers and technology.
