THE EMPLOYER IS: LISBURN CRICKET CLUB The Grounds Staff member will support the maintenance and preparation of Lisburn Cricket Club’s grounds and facilities at Wallace Park. This is a hands-on outdoor role providing experience in sports turf care, grounds maintenance, and facility preparation. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the club’s pitches and surroundings are safe, clean, and well-presented for matches and community use.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cricket pitches and practice areas, including mowing, rolling, marking, and watering.
• Maintain outfields, boundaries, seating areas, and surrounding spaces.
• Help set up and clear down equipment before and after matches, training, and events.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery safely.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and light repairs.
• Ensure all areas are safe, tidy, and ready for players and visitors.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.
• Be able to learn about sports turf care and equipment use.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening or facility maintenance.
• Basic understanding of machinery and hand tools.
• Awareness of health and safety practices.
• Access to transport to and from Wallace Park.
