Civil Engineering Support Grade - Technical Grade (TG)
Job description
The NICS is seeking to fill Civil Engineering Support Grade - Technical Grade (TG) roles, that require specific skills and experience. There are currently a number of full-time vacancies for TG in the NICS: Department for Infrastructure (DfI): Transport and Road Asset Management Group - Operations & Maintenance (O&M). TG within O&M normally report to the Professional and Technical Officer (PTO) Depot Manager. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Supervision of DfI Direct Labour squads, including allocating work, directing and managing squad members, ensuring that targets are met and that Health & Safety requirements are complied with;
- Quality checking of ongoing and completed work on site; Use of computer applications; Record keeping such as in relation to work schedules, job cards and industrial wages; Ordering of materials and hired plant;
- Controlling and issuing plant and associated record keeping; Driving Departmental vehicles. The above list is not meant to be exhaustive but provides a good indication of the main duties of the post.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must, by the closing date for applications, possess: At least a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Civil Engineering;
- AND One years’ experience working in a civil engineering related environment;
- AND A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.
