THE EMPLOYER IS: GREATER SHANTALLOW AREA PARTNERSHIP (GSAP) The Project Support Worker will play an active role in helping the Greater Shantallow Area Partnership deliver projects at its 2 community outreach centres in Skeoge (Skeoge Community Hub & Glenabbey Community Hub) that improve the wellbeing, resilience, and opportunities of local residents. Working as part of a small team the workers will support the planning and delivery of community programmes, events, and initiatives across the two sites, under the guidance of the Centre Managers / Coordinators. Duties will include organising activities, connecting with local groups and residents, assisting with admin and outreach, etc. The Project Support Workers will be working closely with a wide range of community partners, volunteers, and residents / tenants to make sure projects run smoothly and reflect the needs and voices of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of community programmes, initiatives & events.
  • Maintain records & provide administrative support to project staff/centre coordinators.
  • Build relationships with partner organisations, volunteers and residents.
  • Support community outreach and engagement with the support of core staff.
  • Participate in training as directed by the GSAP Manager/Skeoge Centre Manager.
  • Attend monthly supervision sessions and staff/team meetings.
  • Undertake any other duties relevant to the role, and as directed by the Centre Managers.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience of working in a support role.
  • Communication skills, digital and in person.
  • Experience of working with communities.
  • Experience of working with voluntary sector organisations.
  • Experience of project planning and project coordination.
  • Understanding of communities, and the voluntary and community sector.
  • Excellent written skills.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft office or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of seeking and securing grant funding.
  • Experience of the C&V sector in the Greater Shantallow Area.
