Outreach and Communications Officer. Do you love storytelling, engaging communities, and creating meaningful content? Inspire is seeking an Outreach and Communications Officer to help bring the Right Support, Right Time (RSRT) project to life, a cross-community initiative funded by PEACEPLUS and managed by SEUPB. About the Role You’ll lead the communication and engagement strategy for RSRT, raising awareness of the programme’s impact and reaching new audiences. Whether it’s social media, web content, newsletters, events, or internal campaigns, you’ll be the voice of the project, making sure it reflects Inspire’s values of inclusion, compassion, and innovation. The Outreach and Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting the rollout of the Right Support Right Time project through direct engagement with stakeholders in the community alongside implementing communications strategy both online and in traditional media. The role will be responsible for creating engaging content and overseeing digital and traditional marketing campaigns, coordinating media relations, and ensuring consistent internal and external communication. The officer will work closely with a range of internal and external partners to promote the project initiatives and to maintain a strong and positive public image of the work being undertaken.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies, in collaboration with internal and external colleagues working on the ‘Right Support Right Time’ project.
- Create promotional materials, press releases, presentations and newsletters and collaborate with internal and external colleagues to ensure all communications are aligned.
- Create and deliver engaging and accessible content that reflects the strengths of the project and appeals to key audiences and stakeholders. This will include creating written content and engaging with stakeholders in the community.
- Manage social media platforms, website content, email campaigns and ensure content in digital and traditional channels is informative and achieves maximum impact.
- Work with internal and external colleagues to plan and execute marketing campaigns to enhance awareness and understanding of the project objectives
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business, including occasional travel to community venues across Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland.
- Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driver’s licence.
- Either: A degree level qualification in a related field, and a minimum of 2 years experience gained in a similar role.
- Or A minimum of 4 years experience gained in a similar role.
- Applicants must have by the closing date for applications demonstrable experience in each of the following areas.
- Demonstrable experience in successfully managing social media campaigns.
- Demonstrable experience of working in partnership and fostering relationships through networking with a range of stakeholders.
- Robust understanding of traditional and online forms of promotion and outreach.
- Strong administrative, written and presentational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent copywriting and creative writing skills.
