Assistant Service Manager
Job description
The post-holder will assist the Head of Service /Chief Operational Officer DHH in the strategic development, co-ordination and delivery of high-quality services, including the management of unscheduled care pressures. The post holder will support the HOS with management of Clinical Areas, Physician Associates, Resident Doctors and Speciality remit. In addition, the post holder will work with the HOS to present performance reports, papers at the request of the Chief Operational Officer DHH. The post holder will liaise closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to improve channels of communication, allow maximum utilisation of resources, and promote continuity and co-ordination of the services within their sphere of responsibility. Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Service in the review, development, implementation and delivery of services, ensuring integration with corporate and service group strategies and service delivery priorities.
- Support in day to day operational delivery of services and act as first point of contact for any operational issues that require action and escalation.
- Lead and implement service changes, working with key stake holders to redesign plan and deliver to improve patient care pathways in collaboration with the speciality Clinical Leads.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 6 years’ experience at middle management (Band 6 or above), within a major complex organisation/ 5 years in a senior management role(band 7) in an acute hospital setting. or A university degree or equivalent
- Successfully demonstrated people management, and organisational skills for a minimum of 2 years
