Personal Support Worker


Job description

We are looking for a Personal Support Worker to support my 38-year-old sister, who is fun, easy-going, and a pleasure to spend time with. She is an independent adult with learning disabilities and enjoys getting out and about in the community. This is a rewarding role where you will help promote independence and provide respectful, empowering support for daily living.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with grocery shopping and errands.
  • Prepare and cook lunch for that day and the following day.
  • Help maintain a clean and organised home environment.
  • Accompany her on outings and community activities to encourage social engagement.
  • Promote independence, choice, and confidence in daily living.
  • Communicate in a kind, patient, and supportive manner.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills.
  • AccessNI/DBS check provided by the trust.
  • Ability to demonstrate a friendly, patient, and supportive approach.
  • Basic cooking and household skills.
  • Commitment to promoting independence and choice.

Further Information

Location: Omagh and surrounding area. Must have full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Willingness to complete an AccessNI DBS check (organised and paid for by the Trust) Hours of Work: Tuesday 12.30pm to 6.00pm Friday 9.30am to 3.00pm Minimum 2 days required, some flexibility available.
