We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join a scaling business to support their finance team with payroll, invoicing, and general administrative duties. This is a job share role offering flexible part-time hours and a supportive working environment. The role involves processing payroll accurately and maintaining compliance with HMRC regulations, managing payroll records, and responding to employee queries. You will prepare and issue client invoices, monitor outstanding payments, and assist with credit control.
Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration: Process payroll accurately and on time. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Handle employee payroll queries and ensure accurate deductions.
- Invoicing & Accounts Support: Prepare and issue invoices to clients. Monitor outstanding payments and assist with credit control. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations.
- General Administration: Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining financial records. Support the finance team with administrative tasks. Handle general queries related to accounts and payroll.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in payroll processing, invoicing, and general accounts administration.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a job-share arrangement.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of UK payroll regulations and VAT invoicing.
- Experience in a similar role within a small-to-medium business.
