SEHSCT Clinical Addiction Nurse, Healthcare in Prison
Job description
The Addictions Practitioner will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team across the range of Health in Prison addiction service Liaise with community addiction services. They will ensure that a responsive high quality service is provided to service users, their families and carers. They will work within a matrix organisation as a member of the multi-disciplinary Health in Prison addiction team promoting effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency working relationships and acting as a link between clients, professionals and other services to ensure continuity of care. They will be expected to work flexibly to ensure that the needs of the service are met in accordance with commissioned arrangements and key performance indicators. The Addiction Practitioner will ensure the delivery of skilled, evidenced based interventions to individuals suffering from dependency on alcohol and/or other psychoactive substances. Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of mental health care services within Prisons.
- Act as a named keyworker for the management of a defined caseload the majority of which will be off moderate to severe complexity of need.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Mental Health / Adult / Learning Disability Nurse/RGN on Part 1 of the live NMC Register.
- Have three years post-qualifying experience, of which 2 years must be within a Mental Health and/or addictions/statutory or voluntary sector setting.
