ReStore enables local people to improve their homes for less, provides learning opportunities for volunteers from different abilities and backgrounds, and diverts tons of reusable waste from landfill. The ReStore Warehousing Trainee will assist with day-to-day operations of Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Full training and mentoring will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to work as part of a team, to learn new skills that will build your CV, and get experience that you can use in many roles going forward. There may also be an opportunity to engage in Habitat for Humanity's broader work; this could include supporting with schools/youth engagement, practical painting on the House to Home Programme or helping raise the awareness of the organisation at events.
Responsibilities
- Support the Donations Collection Team with the loading and unloading of donations.
- Ensure items collected are labelled and recorded.
- Sort donated goods including the pricing and barcoding of stock.
- Move stock to the shop floor using correct manual handling skills (including equipment use).
- Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and merchandising of the stock.
- Support with the Kitchen Rescue Programme.
- Assist with keeping the store clean and tidy and that health & safety regulations are adhered to.
- Provide excellent customer service to both donors and customers.
- Attend appropriate training as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to safely move stock items (up to 25kg).
- Flexible approach.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team (including with volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities).

The Employer is: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IRELAND JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
