Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse
Job description
Develop and promote the Emergency, Acute and Unscheduled Care service within the Belfast Trust. Contribute to key performance indicators within Acute and Unscheduled Care service. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain standards in line RQIA core indicators for acute hospitals.
- Ensure creditability and act as role model, supervisor, preceptor and mentor.
- Take charge regularly of the Department in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.
- Role model and enable effective communication with patients and relatives to assist in their understanding of their illness, care and treatment.
- Be responsible for supervising nursing staff and for maintaining the highest standard of nursing care.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Part 1, (Adult) of the live NMC Register.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse for 3 years’ with at least 2 years’ in an acute hospital setting.
- Provide evidence of past personal and professional development.
Further Information
Location: A&E Building, Emergency Care Village. The Emergency Care Village (ECV) consists of a 22 bedded Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), 3 bedded ED Observation area located in ward 2F and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). Ward 2F is co-located beside ED to allow easy access of admitted patients from ED assisting the flow of patients through the ED department. The ward is Consultant led with a team of Nurses and Medical staff whose aim is to achieve optimization of patient’s conditions in 48hrs using Emergency ambulatory pathways.
