Butchers Shop Assistant
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: O'KANE MEATS LTD O'Kane Meats are seeking a Butcher’s Shop Assistant to join the team. The role involves serving and speaking with customers, handling cash transactions, and ensuring shelves are stocked and rotated properly. All training will be provided in house. This is a great opportunity learn valuable skills while working in a busy shop.
Responsibilities
- Cash handling and till operation, processing payments accurately, giving correct change and maintaining cash register balances.
- Understand store products to answer customer questions and arranging displays to attract sales.
- Monitor stock levels, replenishing what is needed.
- Trim, slice, grind, and portion different types of meat accurately and efficiently according to customer or shop specifications.
- Food Safety and Hygiene, proper sanitation, storage, and handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to work in a team.
Desirable Skills
- Basic food hygiene.
- Knowledge of meat cuts.
- Time keeping skills.
