THE EMPLOYER IS: SMARTEPOSNI LTD Smart EPOS NI is a leading provider of integrated EPOS and payment solutions across Northern Ireland and Ireland. As the region’s trusted SkyTab and Shift4 partner, we deliver cutting-edge hospitality and retail technology with local installation, training, and ongoing support. We’re expanding our support team and are looking for a motivated Technical Customer Support Agent to join our fast-growing company. As a Technical Customer Support Agent, you’ll be the first point of contact for our merchants, providing friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable support across our EPOS and payment systems. You’ll assist with troubleshooting, remote diagnostics, software updates, and coordination with our field engineers - ensuring every customer receives first-class service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote access.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on SkyTab EPOS systems.
  • Log, track, and manage support tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or suppliers when needed.
  • Assist with remote installations, menu updates, and system configurations.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and solutions provided.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Confident working with computers and cloud-based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in technical support or customer service preferred (EPOS or IT background a plus).
