Job description
Our client CDE Global who specialises in designing, manufacturing and commissioning wet processing plants are sourcing experienced Welders to join their team in Monkstown. Perform MIG welding on mild steel components.
Responsibilities
- Strictly adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times.
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel components.
- Producing high-quality welds in line with engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Inspecting and verifying weld accuracy and integrity.
- Preparing materials for welding through grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and shop orders to plan and execute fabrication tasks.
- Assist in the design and development of jigs and fixtures to improve fabrication and welding accuracy and improve efficiency, and repeatability within CDE.
- Maintain 5S housekeeping standards within the work area and proactively suggest improvements.
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely, ensuring all safety controls and devices are correctly in place.
- Conduct first-off and in-process inspections in accordance with CDE quality standards.
- Work to agreed production schedules, achieving output targets in line with operational and customer demand.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment as scheduled.
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the fabrication area.
- Cross train and share knowledge with other employees.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to support production and business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level 3 apprenticeship or NVQ equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline or relevant experience.
