Job description

Bryson Recycling is on the lookout for a Kerbside Driver to help us lead the charge in responsible waste handling and high-quality recycling. Reporting to your Kerbside Team Manager, you’ll be the boots on the ground - collecting recyclable materials, maintaining excellent service standards, and ensuring every can, bottle, and box meets our quality expectations. Please note: the role involves frequent entry and exit from the vehicle, around 250 times a day - so it keeps you active.

Responsibilities

• Drive with Purpose: Operate our specialised recycling vehicle and additional vehicles as needed, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of recyclables.
• Lead the Round: Oversee daily collection routes, expertly emptying recycling containers from properties while sorting materials to maintain high-quality standards.
• Offload with Care: Efficiently empty the vehicle's contents into designated containers at our depot, ensuring proper disposal and sorting.
• Safety First: Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with legal requirements, promptly reporting any defects.
• Public Perception: Ensure that both personal and crew conduct reinforces a positive public perception of Bryson Recycling, reflecting our commitment to the community.
• Follow the Rules: Adhere to Bryson Recycling’s policies and procedures, along with all relevant legislation regarding Health and Safety, transport, and environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Current C Class Driving License (HGV).
• Valid Driver CPC Card.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work independently without close supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime, as required.
• Comfortable performing tasks that involve regular bending, stepping, and manual handling as part of the daily duties.

Desirable Skills

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• RCV experience.
• Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or a similar operational role.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
