Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: NORTHWEST CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP As Front of House Support, you will be working within a small team providing support to the Newgate Arts Centre. You will be managing the Front of House communications by keeping daily schedules that support the running of the Newgate Theatre. Along with this, you will need to manage, record and maintain room and space rentals, managing postal and electronic mail, manage online sales for the Theatre, manage meeting schedules and visitor meet and greets. You will be required to provide directions, manage sign ins and provide safety instructions to guests. You will also be asked to support meeting needs such as set-up preparation and catering coordination. There is a requirement of flexible working hours to support the Theatre's needs with opening hours and some core weekday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet visitors at all levels including VIPs, specific needs, class participants and customers.
  • Record visitor details and communicate safety protocols in the event of an incident.
  • Manage all incoming mail systems and ensure prompt onwards delivery such as parcels, mail, and electronic communications.
  • Manage the meeting diary and ensure rooms are set up and catered for as per the booking request system.
  • Provide front of house support during theatre performance as required such as the staff rota and schedules.
  • Support PR team in developing and communicating all performances.
  • Manage and update visitors book and staff attendance board.
  • Deliver catering for meeting needs such as tea, coffee, etc.
  • Support health and safety systems by participating in weekly checks including Tanoy testing.
  • Opening and closing security protocols and alarm setting.
  • Flexibility on time and input.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • System Knowledge - Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, mail and online booking systems (WIX).
  • Problem-Solving - The ability to think on your feet, dynamically solve problems as they arise, and perform effective emergency response.
  • Communication - Strong communication skills are needed to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, performers, production managers, general venue staff and the public.
  • Physical Capability - Physically capable of moving furniture such as chairs, tables, pushing trolleys and carrying small parcels.
  • Organisational skills - Ability to record data, schedule meetings via a booking diary and set reminders to allow full participation.
