Regional Activity Therapist
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: SPA NURSING HOMES LTD To design and deliver engaging activity programs that promote wellbeing and social interaction for elderly residents, supporting existing Activity Therapists and ensuring compliance with RQIA standards. All posts involve substantial access to vulnerable adults and therefore, the successful candidate will be offered the post subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI. Regulated roles will also require a check of the Adults Barred List. If you have never worked in social care, you will need to register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council within 6 months of starting. If you have worked in social care you will need to register before starting. References are required and where applicable, this includes from the most recent employer.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside existing Activity Therapists, design and deliver engaging activity programs for residents across multiple care homes, promoting wellbeing and social interaction and complementing existing programs.
- Support existing Activity Therapists by providing guidance, resources and coordination.
- Develop tailored activities to meet individual needs and preferences, ensuring compliance with RQIA standards and the principle of person centred care.
- Organise group events, outings and seasonal celebrations to enhance resident experience.
- Monitor and evaluate activity participation and outcomes, reporting to management regularly.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to use initiative and manage own time.
- Good communication skills.
- An interest working with elderly people (previous experience in this area would be helpful).
- Great organisational skills.
- Driving licence & access to a vehicle OR access to transport (other than public) which will enable you to travel to our homes.
Further Information
Location: The base location will be Ballynahinch and mileage paid to other homes based on this. Regional across homes located in Ballynahinch, Belfast, Carryduff, Banbridge and Crumlin. Mileage will be paid for travel between homes. The Employer is: SPA NURSING HOMES LTD JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
