The Lead Nurse for the Tissue Viability Nurse Team (TVN) will be responsible for the professional leadership and delivery of the TVN Service at a strategic and clinical level. The post holder will manage the TVN Team. The Post holder will ensure the delivery of high quality TVN services to comply with all national and regional standards, legislation and guidance. As a member of the Regional Inpatient Pressure Ulcer Prevention Group the post holder will ensure that expert advice and support, pertaining to tissue viability is provided to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues. Responsibilities

• The post holder will lead on the development of tissue viability policy, ensuring engagement of all groups of staff, patients/clients and external organisations where appropriate.
• The post holder will support the Executive Director of Nursing and Patient Experience, through the Deputy Director of Safety, Quality & Patient Experience, to ensure that the Trust continually improves its performance
• in reducing hospital acquired tissue damage by developing systems that are evidenced based and founded in best practice.
• Support and advise the Executive Director of Nursing and User Experience in developing strategic direction for tissue viability.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must be a Registered Nurse (Level 1) Midwife on the NMC live register.
• Must have worked for at least 2 years’ at Band 7 as a Senior Tissue Viability Nurse.
• Hold a health related University Degree. OR Have at least 5 years’ experience at Band 7 as a Tissue Viability Nurse.
• Must have a valid driving license and access to a car or be able to make travel arrangements.
• Where disability prohibits driving, this criteria will be waived if the applicant is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements.

Desirable Skills

• Qualification in management.

Further Information

Location: Royal Victoria Hospital. Salary: £53,755 - £60,504 per annum, pro rata.
