In this role you will be responsible for the provision of painting services, including the transport or personnel, materials & equipment. Apply now to express your interest.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the duties of a painter in relation to all types of painting, papering and glazing and sign writing using stencils.
  • Work as an integral part of a maintenance team and have a thorough practical knowledge of all aspects of painting maintenance, with particular emphasis on work related to repair and upkeep of older property.
  • Be able to work on his/her own, on occasions, with minimum of supervision.
  • Carry out his/her duties to a high standard of craftsmanship.
  • Undertake training when necessary to keep up to date with current trends in the construction industry and hospital environment, so as to be compliant with current legislation.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of Health and Safety practices and in particular in the use of materials (including hazardous materials) and COSHH Regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Recognised CITB Painting Apprenticeship.
  • Certified on the Construction Skills Register or other approved technical qualification(s).
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

Further Information

Location: Holywell Hospital, Antrim. About the role: £13.57 per hour. Monday - Friday (8am to 4pm). 37 hours a week. Duration: approximately 3-4 months.
