Job description
An excellent opportunity for an Internal Sales Support professional to join a busy sales and customer service team. The role involves supporting external sales, managing customer enquiries, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring smooth sales operations while delivering a high standard of service.
Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone or email.
- Prepare accurate quotations and assist with pricing decisions to help support sales and margin targets.
- Process and manage customer orders through internal systems efficiently and accurately.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to confirm stock availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with monitoring stock levels and identifying cost-effective supply opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records, order histories, and pricing structures.
- Follow up on quotes and outstanding orders to maximise conversion and support margin improvement.
- Stay up to date with product ranges, market pricing, and customer needs to help maintain our competitive edge.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience in a sales support, trade counter, or internal sales role would be advantageous (ideally in tools, industrial supplies, or hardware).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with customers quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, trade-focused environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); familiarity with CRM or ERP software is a bonus.
