Job description
The Forward Project, funded by PEACEPLUS, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of this transformative initiative. With a budget of 2.7 million Euros over four years, the project aims to foster peace and reconciliation through cross-community engagement. As a Project Co-ordinator you will be required to organise and deliver peace building activities at both a local and a regional level, in collaboration with colleagues based at the different Partners to the project. This will involve extensive and ongoing consultation and co-ordination to ensure all the Outputs of the Forward Project are met. Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Forward Project. Ensure the project meets its objectives in line with PEACEPLUS funding requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, statutory bodies, and funders.
- Financial & Budget Oversight: Manage the project’s budget, ensuring financial accountability and compliance. Work closely with the Finance Officer to oversee financial reporting, expenditure tracking, and audits.
- Reporting & Governance: Prepare and submit detailed reports to SEUPB (Special EU Programmes Body) in line with funding requirements.
- Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Project Steering Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure the project aligns with best practices in peace building and community development.
- Staff & Line Management: Oversee and support project staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and performance.
- Community Engagement & Peacebuilding: Lead cross-community initiatives, fostering collaboration and reconciliation.
- Represent the project at events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 years minimum experience in cross-community work and peace building initiatives.
- Experience in staff management, including line management responsibilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of peace and reconciliation frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working with SEUPB, INTEREG, or IFI funded projects. Knowledge of EU funding mechanisms and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Further Information
As part of the Project Co-ordinator Role, you will be working with people from diverse communities across the region including ex-prisoners and former combatants and former members of the security forces. Discretion and confidentiality are key requirements of this role. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the work which the FORWARD project will carry out, a high degree of personal integrity and discretion is required.
