THE EMPLOYER IS: LETTERSHANDONEY AND DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT GROUP The Community Centre Attendant will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation of community facilities and associated programming. Operating from the Mullabuoy Centre, this will be primarily an evening-based role assisting with keyholding, health and safety, and some administrative duties. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the facility, equipment, and resources within their area of responsibility. This list of responsibilities to follow, serves as an indicator of the main aspects of the role rather than a definitive list. Lettershandoney and District Development Group staff are expected to adopt a degree of flexibility and responsiveness to meet the needs of the organisation and wider district area. This may at times require fulfilling duties not specifically outlined within their respective job description.

Responsibilities

  • Keyholding duties, including ensuring the security of the facility at opening and/or closing.
  • Assist with the checking of operational, safety, and building equipment such as alarms, fire-fighting equipment, first aid equipment etc.
  • Recording and reporting any defects or repair requests.
  • Maintaining attendance and safety records.
  • Arranging and storage of equipment to facilitate classes and community events.
  • Reception duties including bookings and enquiries, and cash handling.
  • Responding to emergency and first-aid incidents within the building.
  • Support project workers and management in fundraising, marketing, events management, community research etc.
  • Supervision of volunteers and maintaining rota of volunteer activity.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A minimum or 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Previous experience of working or volunteering in the community and voluntary sector.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Full current driving licence and access to a form of transport. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants who cannot hold a licence.
  • Category D1 Driving Licence.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
