Job description
Job descripton. The post-holder will: Facilitate education and practice development within Cancer Services in the Western Health & Social Care Trust. Co-ordinate and deliver the training and education of nursing staff within Cancer Services and ensure that they have the appropriate skills and knowledge base to deliver quality nursing care. Collaborate with key individuals to ensure the expertise exists within cancer services to provide specialist nursing care. Responsibilities
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base ensuring professional academic and clinical credibility. This will involve working and role modelling as a practitioner in Cancer Services.
- Ensure regular evaluation of effectiveness of own role by providing quarterly reports of work in progress to the Lead Nurse / Macmillan Nursing Services Manager.
- Collaborate with key individuals, including Sisters / Charge Nurses, Senior Clinicians, Lead Nurse and General Manager for Cancer Services.
- Play a key role in facilitating work based learning within Cancer Services Facilitate the Induction Programme for new staff nurses.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register.
- Completion of a recognised Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) course including competencies.
