THE EMPLOYER IS: BROTHERS AUTISM SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CIC Our Communications Officer will be required to help with developing and implementing our strategies to manage an organisation's internal and external communication. Key duties include writing and distributing press releases and other publicity materials, managing social media, organising events, and acting as a liaison with the media and public. They also work to maintain a consistent and positive public image, advise management on communication strategies, and ensure employees are informed of company news. Others typical duties may be required to meet the needs of the organisation. All employees will be required to embrace and adhere to our overall Vision, our Mission, and Values during their time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute public relations campaigns and communication strategies to achieve organisational goals.
  • Write and edit content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, websites, and social media.
  • Manage relationships with the media, respond to inquiries, and draft statements for the public.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, the public, and other external organizations.
  • Organise events such as press conferences, exhibitions, and other promotional activities.
  • Develop and manage internal communication channels to keep employees informed about company developments.
  • Research the target audience and analyse media coverage and public opinion to inform communication efforts.
  • Manage the organisation's online presence, including websites and social media platforms.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in media, journalism, or corporate communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and prioritising skills.
  • Relationship development capabilities and good interpersonal skills.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with content management systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing.
  • Experience with relevant software, such as design and email marketing programs.
