Assisi Animal Sanctuary is recruiting a Team Leader for our busy Dog Unit. This is a key role in ensuring high welfare standards, supporting rehoming outcomes, and leading a dedicated team of Animal Welfare Assistants and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Daily leadership and organisation of the Dog Unit
• Ensuring high-quality animal care, enrichment and behavioural support
• Training, supervising and motivating staff and volunteers
• Managing rehoming processes and customer engagement
• Coordinating intake decisions and maintaining accurate records
• Promoting Assisi’s values and positive One Team culture
• Upholding health and safety, safeguarding and welfare standards

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ Level 2 National Diploma in Animal Care, or willingness to work towards
• Commitment and knowledge of animal welfare
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced or welfare setting
• Strong communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Animal care/welfare qualifications above NVQ Level 2
• Full UK driving licence with confidence driving vans
• Customer service training or experience
• Experience with animal management databases
• Experience in an animal rescue environment
