Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: PEATLANDS KENNELS LTD The Kennel Assistant role will consist of taking care of the dogs, including feeding, administering medication and more, as well as meeting clients, maintaining diary entries and taking and recording payments. There will be some general cleaning tasks as well such as power hosing and cleaning the pens.

Responsibilities

  • Taking and recording payments.
  • Opening and locking up.
  • Looking after all dogs including: feeding, administering medication, walking, bathing and light grooming.
  • Ensuring the premises are always clean and tidy.
  • Adhering to health & safety.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous kennel experience.
  • Knowledge of working with the general public.
  • Have an interest in dog breeds.
