Warehouse Operative
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: COONEEN GROUP The job entails working as part of a small, efficient team in both goods in and despatch for customers and suppliers. Stock control will be a main element of the job.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for keeping stock well organised and tidy.
- Complete Physical cycle counts of warehouse stock daily.
- Identify discrepancies and investigate root cause.
- Identify areas of improvement in regard to stock control.
- Pick components in line with pick list and prepare for delivery.
- Put returned stock back in the correct place and communicate to team leader.
- Ensure warehouse stock is kept organised and tidy.
- Assist with pick and pack during busy warehouse periods.
- Assist with unloading and loading containers when required.
- To identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility.
- Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security.
- Maximize efficiency by supporting Cooneen Lean continuous improvement activities .
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Competent in the use of IT Microsoft Office, word, and excel.
- Keen eye for detail to ensure any imperfections are noticed.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven ability to follow health & safety procedures.
Desirable Skills
- GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent at C Grade or above (or equivalent work experience).
- Relevant experience in a Stores/Warehouse environment.
- Experience of using IT Stock systems (although training will be provided).
- Valid Forklift/Telehandler Licence.
