Test Shop Operative


Job description

Our client is seeking a Test Shop Operative to join their team based in Belfast.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all appropriate equipment checks are carried out at shift start and shift end.
  • Test appropriate cylinders according to date rotation within safety and legal requirements to ensure that only clean, refurbished, safe cylinders remain in circulation and damaged cylinders are put out of use or sent for repair.
  • MCP frame refurbishment, disassembly and reassembly in line with authorised BOC procedures.
  • Ensure all procedures, legislation requirements and quality standards are fully met, and details recorded as necessary by manual or computerised systems.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times and that the site is kept secure.
  • Using a fork lift truck move cylinder packages between the yard and test shop as required.
  • Using a fork lift truck, load and unload vehicles according to cylinder transfer documentation to ensure that BOC branches are supplied and maintained at target stock levels.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Forklift Truck driving experience.
  • Manual handling techniques.
  • Knowledge of Industrial & Medical gases.
  • Mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • BOC safety and quality procedures.
  • Full Knowledge of BOC products and services.
  • Computer systems awareness.
  • Effective communication and working as part of a team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that identify further quality and safety improvements.
  • Non-destructive testing UT or MPI level 1 and level 2.
