Relief Project Worker
Job description
The main function of the role is to provide the highest possible standard of care and support to the people who use our services by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support the people who use our services to manage their mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
- Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision-making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.
- Deliver care and support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible and work such hours as required by the post in order to meet the needs of the service.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Or A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car. Business insurance will be a requirement of this post. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.

Fermanagh CWS is open five days a week and supports individuals who are often isolated, living with long-term anxiety, low mood, or depression. Many of our participants are not actively linked into formal services, some are self-referred, others come via GPs or partner agencies. Through group activities, outreach support and meaningful social connection, we offer a safe, empowering space where people can rediscover their confidence and routines.
