THE EMPLOYER IS: BELL FARMS Bell Farms require a Farm worker to assist in general farm duties on a modern dairy farm. The duties will vary from cow management and herd health to general farm duties and maintenance required on a busy dairy farm. There will also be various opportunities to gain experience using and operating agricultural machinery to include silage, slurry, diet feeding, rolling, topping grass etc. No specific experience is required as full training will be provided for the right candidate. Additional hours may be available as experience is gained.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with milking cows - new modern De Laval 16 point parlour using feed to yield, fully automated.
• Helping to feed / rear calves, ensuring access to fresh water, meal and bedding daily.
• Cleaning and bedding cow cubicles daily to ensure optimum cow hygiene.
• Assisting with animal health - dosing, cows feet, de-horning, scanning and AI of cows.
• General maintenance around farm - fixing gates, fencing and cleaning.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Able to work independently.
• Able to work as part of a team, meet deadlines and working well under pressure.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience with machinery.
• Previous experience with animals.
