Functional Specialist - WCA
Job description
At Capita, we’re looking for professionals to join our Health Assessment Advisory Service as Functional Specialists. In this role, you’ll use your clinical knowledge to carry out functional assessments and compile evidence-based reports that help the Northern Ireland Department for Communities make informed decisions about benefit claims. Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone assessments and face-to-face functional assessments of individuals with disabilities or health conditions.
- Compile clear, concise and factual medical reports - no treatment or diagnosis required.
- Collaborate with regional managers and administrators to meet service level agreements.
- Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.
- Embrace ongoing feedback and professional development.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- One year's post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic or doctor.
- Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, GMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A professional, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to undergo BPSS security clearance.
Further Information
Location: Belfast plus 9 sites across Northern Ireland, Armagh, Ballymena, Coleraine, Dungannon, Enniskillen Foyle, Newry, Omagh and Portadown. Plus excellent benefits and over 100 CPD hours in first 3 months. Opportunity of overtime at a significant higher rate.
