THE EMPLOYER IS: ACREWOOD DAYCARE CIC At Acrewood Daycare we value an educational and child-centred approach. Our daycare operates across 3 main play rooms (0-2, 2-3, 3-5) with a small SEN cohort. As an admin assistant, your main role will be assisting the room leaders and management with printing/copying, preparing resources, internal information sharing and helping to manage the phones/points of contact. We are looking for someone with a passion for children and helping them achieve their next steps through facilitating good communication and high quality information. The ideal person would be adaptable in a busy environment, shows patience and understanding towards children and has a desire to learn and grow their own foundation of skills. Enhanced Access NI and social services checks are required before any appointment can be confirmed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for distributing information among co-workers.
  • Greeting and assisting parents/visitors.
  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Handling office tasks such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Making the arrangements for events and outings for the children.
  • Organise and schedule appointments/meetings.
  • Assist childcare staff with their printing needs and displays.
  • Making sure there are no scheduling conflicts.
  • Develop an understanding and appreciation for schedule making/keeping.
  • Develop your office-based skills (Office suite, typing, schedule keeping).
  • Develop your coordination skills through assisted planning and execution of trips/outings/open nights etc.
  • Develop your personal communication skills through consistent communication with staff and parents.
  • Become aware of GDPR and setting information sharing policy.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have an understanding and appreciation for schedule making/keeping.
  • Have a basic understanding of office-based skills (Office suite, typing, schedule keeping).
  • Have good personal communication skills as you will be in communication with staff and parents.
  • Be accurate and concise in order to deliver information effectively.

Further Information

The Employer is: ACREWOOD DAYCARE CIC JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
