Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: THE BYTES PROJECT This role will enable Bytes to successfully deliver digital skills projects and training that promote the personal, educational, creative, and social development of young people, using creative ICT, assisting them reach their full potential, in line with our strategic plan and operational plan. A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport that will enable the post-holder to meet the travel requirements of the Job. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence. All successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced Check with Access NI.

Responsibilities

  • The development of a range of high quality digital skills programmes with Bytes and member groups.
  • The development of digital skills with staff and volunteers across Bytes and member groups.
  • Supporting agencies to develop digital services for Bytes and member groups.
  • Supporting digital skills project development and implementation across with Bytes and member groups.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability in using creative ICT solutions (full training will be provided).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to the aims and values of Bytes, including the principles that drive the values and behaviours of staff in Bytes.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport that will enable the postholder to meet the travel requirements of the Job.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and to travel throughout UK, Ireland, and occasionally abroad at times demanded by the job.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of ICT systems, with ability to learn any new systems or software as required.
  • 1 year experience in using creative ICT solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NI Youth Work Curriculum and Department of Education Child Protection regulations.
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems to include the following Microsoft Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience of design and delivery of youth work projects across a range of settings.
