Job description

Successful candidates will be employed by Seagate to gain valuable experience in our thriving global manufacturing business while studying for a degree with no fees or costs associated with higher education. Throughout the four years you will develop invaluable skills in all elements of engineering, supported by close mentorship and academic guidance from Ulster University. Upon satisfactory performance and successful completion of the course, you will continue your career with Seagate, building on your knowledge gained. After the four years of training and upon completion of your degree, you will be offered a permanent position at Seagate as a Graduate Engineer. On completion of your degree you must achieve a minimum level of Second Class Honors. Completed applications should be submitted no later than Sunday 15th February 2026.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • An excellent communicator.
  • Experience or interest in Mechanical/Manufacturing / Engineering/Maintenance with desire to work in Engineering in a world class industry.
  • To be successful in this role, you must end your schooling with the following grades: 3 x B’s (A Level or equivalent). Please provide your predicted grades on your application.
  • Please review link for standard entry conditions: Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering - Degree Apprenticeship BEng (Hons) at Ulster University 2025/26 entry - Part-time Undergraduate Study.
  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Engineering (Merit or above).
  • At least two A Levels from: Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Technology and Design, Design and Technology, Double Award Science/Applied Science, Engineering, or Electronics (minimum BBB).
  • A Levels combined with a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate (Merit or above).
  • BTEC Applicants, Please specify whether you are studying or hold Extended Certificates or Diplomas, and confirm whether your modules include:
  • Engineering Principles;
  • Calculus to solve engineering problems.
