THE EMPLOYER IS: CREGGAN ENTERPRISES LTD The successful applicant will work as part of the existing Facilities team and will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties to ensure the site is maintained to a high standard and operates safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities will include: General Maintenance: Undertaking routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs across buildings, equipment, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and well presented. Reporting any defects or issues that require specialist attention. Health and Safety: Assisting in maintaining a safe working environment by following health and safety procedures, carrying out basic safety checks, and reporting hazards, incidents, or near misses in line with company policies. Cleaning and Housekeeping: Supporting daily cleaning and housekeeping duties to ensure all areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming, including shared spaces, work areas, and external facilities. Customer Service: Providing a friendly and professional point of contact for customers, visitors, and colleagues, responding to enquiries, and offering assistance as required to ensure a positive experience on site. Gardening and Grounds Maintenance: Carrying out basic gardening and grounds maintenance tasks such as lawn care, weeding, litter picking, and general upkeep of outdoor areas to maintain an attractive and safe environment. The role requires a flexible and proactive approach, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards across all aspects of facilities management.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out general maintenance tasks and minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well maintained.
- Supporting health and safety procedures by completing routine checks, following safe working practices, and promptly reporting hazards, defects, or incidents.
- Undertaking cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment across internal and external areas.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service by interacting professionally with customers, visitors, and colleagues, and responding to requests or enquiries as required.
- Performing basic gardening and grounds maintenance duties, including lawn care, weeding, litter picking, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to carry out basic general maintenance and repair tasks.
- Good awareness and understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, visitors, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report maintenance or safety issues.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.
- Physical ability to carry out manual tasks, including cleaning, lifting, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Desirable Skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills as required.
