Job description

The Domiciliary Care Worker will work as part of a team providing personal, domestic and social care at home to vulnerable individuals (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health) in the community. Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Able to promote and deliver personal care.

Desirable Skills

• 6 months experience in formal care setting.
• NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
• NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
• Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.

Further Information

Mileage payment: 30p per mile. Weekly earnings from £190.10 per week, Monday - Thursday bed run: £13.15 per hour, Friday - Sunday bed run: £14.15 per hour. Joining bonus - £150 (t's and c's apply) Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Access NI check. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for. Access NI Code of Practice is available from www.nidirect.gov.uk/publications/accessni-code-practice. Successful applicants are required to register with NISCC by their start date.
