St. Thomas CSI (Church of South India) Church Belfast is a registered charity under The Charity Commission of Northern Ireland, which is a community of Christian believers from the United Kingdom which formed in year 2008. Members are predominantly from the Malayalam-speaking Christian community of Church of South India (CSI) and we choose to be a model worshiping in the CSI tradition and to uphold the motto and ideals of the CSI - "That they all may be one." Organising regular eucharist services in the Church; providing pastoral care for members of the congregation across the UK; officiating at weddings, funerals and other special services; conducting house visits for the church members; responding to and dealing with telephone calls from church members; conducting spiritual and pastoral sessions with younger Church generation; conducting follow-up sessions with new members of the Church; Fostering the CSI Presence within UK & Empower the members to grow, Strengthening Fellowships & outreach centres to new Congregations ;A UK-Wide Vision, emphasising unity, outreach, spiritual development, and practical support for the CSI members in UK ; organizing local charity projects within the remits of the Church constitution, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Organising regular eucharist services in the Church.
  • Providing pastoral care for members of the congregation.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Be an ordained priest of the Church of South India (CSI).
  • Have an acceptable degree/diploma in theology/divinity.
  • Have good communication and management skills.
  • Have a good understanding of the Christian faith.
  • Have a good understanding of the Christian faith and knowledge of the Holy Sacraments,
  • Have at least three years' experience in a similar role within the Church of South India Churches. Have a recent full time working experience within the Church of South India Churches.
  • The ability to converse in the Malayalam language in addition to English would be an advantage.
  • Willing to travel across the UK.

Start date of 1st May 2026 for a fixed Contract of 36 months, 35 hours per week. Contract length: 36 months.
