Job description

Bloomfields is a Dementia Nursing Home requiring a part time cook for 3 days per week responsible for the provision of well-balanced and nourishing meals for 36 residents. A full job description is available upon request of an application pack.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the provision of good quality home cooked food ensuring meals are prepared at the agreed times.
• Maintaining and observing a high level of service and hygiene within the kitchen.
• Assistance with menus, consideration to special diets and residents likes and dislikes.
• Supervising and instructing kitchen staff as necessary in the preparation of food, health & safety and cleaning within the kitchen.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ qualification relevant to cooking and food hygiene.
• Knowledge of specialised diets and allergies.
• Knowledge of HACCP.
• At least one years experience in a similar environment.

Further Information

An AccessNI Enhanced Disclosure certificate is required for this role. This part-time position is for 3 days / 21 hours per week from 9.00am to 5.00pm, breaks unpaid, however applicants interested in working only 2 days / 14 hours per week will also be considered. Rota will include working alternate weekends.
