THE EMPLOYER IS: THE ESSENCE VAULT LTD The Jaq. Group is a fast-moving company which has experienced considerable growth over the last year and have partnered with the Jobstart Scheme to offer entry-level positions in the field of logistics and distribution. The Junior Despatch Operative will be responsible for assisting with the efficient and accurate movement of goods within the company's supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Order Preparation: Gathering and organising products for shipment based on customer orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Packaging: Properly packaging items to ensure safe transport and prevent damage during transit.
  • Labelling and Documentation: Affixing shipping labels, invoices, and other necessary documents to packages, ensuring correct information and compliance with regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Tracking and recording inventory levels, assisting in stock counting and reconciliation.
  • Loading and Unloading: Assisting in loading goods onto delivery vehicles and unloading incoming shipments.
  • Communication: Coordinating with colleagues, supervisors, and delivery drivers to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting products for defects and ensuring that they meet quality standards before dispatch.
  • Health and Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Equipment Handling: Operating equipment like hand trucks to move goods within the warehouse.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise during the despatch process and collaborating with senior operatives to find solutions.
  • Learning and Development: Acquiring knowledge of company procedures, industry regulations, and improving skills in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Ensure that you treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.
  • You are required to adhere to and promote the Equal Opportunities Policy throughout the course of your employment.
  • You must maintain high standards of personal accountability.
  • You must co-operate with others on health and safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Unemployed currently.
  • Willing to register with and be eligible for the Job Start Scheme.

The Employer is: THE ESSENCE VAULT LTD JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information - Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. - Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. - Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
