General Support Worker

THE EMPLOYER IS: RURAL HEALTH PARTNERSHIP The Support Worker will support the day-to-day operations of the Rural Health Partnership (RHP) by providing practical assistance across a range of areas, including supporting our facilitators, providing administration support, assisting our facility maintenance, assisting at our programme delivery, assisting at our events and activities, and where appropriate providing our clients with support whilst attending our activities. This role ensures that RHP programmes and services run smoothly and that the organisation remains a welcoming and efficient place for staff, volunteers, and participants. The Support Worker plays a vital role in keeping the Rural Health Partnership welcoming and running smoothly, supporting staff, volunteers, and participants with events, programs, and daily operations. They will help maintain a safe, confidential, friendly, and inclusive environment while helping to keep things organised, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our staff and volunteers in running our programs and workshops.
  • Help set up equipment, materials, and refreshments for events.
  • Provide basic support to participants attending our programmes and activities.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Provide general administrative support including photocopying, filing, maintaining attendance records.
  • Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide a friendly customer service.
  • Where appropriate take photographs and collect information for RHP staff to use in monthly newsletters, or for funders reports, and also for sending to our Social Media Volunteer to be used for promotion of RHP activities.
  • Assist with the setup and pack-down of our events, programs, and meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of RHP facilities, offices, and storage spaces.
  • Report any repairs or safety issues to management.
  • Support with the opening and locking up of premises/facilities used for RHP programmes as required (may include some evenings).
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Report incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy policies at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to manage tasks, set up events, and maintain records efficiently.
  • Record keeping, filing, photocopying, and general office tasks.
  • Using email, attendance systems, and simple office software.
  • Ability to assist staff and volunteers and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to help with programs, workshops, events, and basic facility maintenance.
  • Following health & safety procedures and respecting participant privacy maintaining confidentiality on all matters relating to the RHP.
  • Ability to assist with setting up and packing down equipment and maintaining facilities.

Desirable Skills

  • For taking photos, maintaining records, and supporting online promotion.
  • Helping with planning, setup, and pack-down of programs or activities.
  • Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for participants and visitors.
  • Handling unexpected issues during events or programs efficiently.
  • Willingness to assist in varied tasks, including occasional evenings or different locations around Cullyhanna.
