Job description
Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals and snacks, as and when required. Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual residents.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Plan menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
- Order stocks and check deliveries. Ensure stock rotation.
- Supervise and instruct kitchen staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Enhanced Access NI to be completed by the successful candidate.
- Have a genuine commitment to working as part of a team within a caring environment.
