Biomedical Scientist in Immunocytochemistry IOP


Job description

The post holder will work as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in the Immunocytochemistry department within the Cellular Pathology Service for the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. The post holder will join a specialist team of dictated staff that deliver a comprehensive service; testing over 75,000 samples each year with a staining repertoire of over 250 antibodies for both therapeutic and diagnostic staining. The Cellular Pathology service offer a 100% Digital Pathology service which is fully integrated into immunocytochemistry.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist and have completed IBMS Specialist Diploma (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
  • Have at least 1 year’s post HCPC registration experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of requirements of UKAS ISO 15189
