Job description

The postholder will contribute in the delivery of a comprehensive range of financial services including financial controls, system administration, financial analysis; cash management and a comprehensive expenditure analysis and reporting service. The postholder will manage a member of staff in the delivery of these services. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will support the Financial Accountant in maintaining effective financial controls and processes in relation to BSO and customers.
  • Will be responsible for reconciliations of designated control accounts for BSO and a number of HSC clients, ensuring variances are followed up and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support delivery of the monthly ‘soft close’ process for BSO and HSC clients, ensuring all control accounts are reconciled on a timely basis each month, the work of other staff is reviewed and any issues are identified.
  • Liaise with the client accounting team in relation to any issues impacting the customer assurance reporting regime.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Part Qualified Accountant having completed the foundation level of professional Accountancy examinations with one of the following professional accounting institutes (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS, CIMA or CAI) or equivalent.
  • Or Degree in Accounting or other Business related subject Or Qualified Accounting Technician with IATI / AAT or equivalent qualification.
  • And Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the last 5 years working in an accounting/finance role or equivalent experience. This should include a minimum of 1 years’ relevant experience within a financial role.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of structure and role of the BSO or knowledge and experience of public sector or operating in a complex organisation.
