Job description

We are currently looking for an HGV Driver (C) to join our busy teams at our site in Maydown. As a Driver you will be required to complete multi drop deliveries and collections throughout NI. The Driver will also be required to collect and move commercial containers when required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge Brand
• Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
• Complete vehicle checks in line with operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
• Follow all regulations relating to driver’s hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
• Working collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Undertake all necessary training, & co-operate with the security clearance process as required
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must hold a valid HGV licence - Category ‘C’
• Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
• Full UK Driving Licence (max of 6 penalty points)
• Basic disclosure checks i.e. Access NI, will be required and should be maintained
• Ability to undertake manual work
• Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team player
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Good knowledge of driver’s hours, rules, and regulations

Desirable Skills

• Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
• Previous experience working in the waste industry

Any offer of employment will be subject to a successful driving assessment. Must be able to provide documentation to confirm your eligibility to work in the UK. Annual Bonus scheme available. Overtime rate of time and a half for hours worked over 44 hours Monday to Friday. Time and a half -Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday. 28 days Annual leave (incl. of 8 Customary/Bank Holidays).
