Job description

We are seeking a Canteen Operative to oversee day shift operations within our factory canteen. You will ensure day shift staff receive quality food in a clean, safe, and well-organised environment, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of food for day shift staff, following food safety and hygiene standards
• Serving meals and maintaining adequate food supplies during the shift
• Cleaning and housekeeping duties within the canteen, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and equipment
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to work independently during night hours

Desirable Skills

• Good knowledge of cleanliness and hygiene
• Previous experience in food preparation or catering is an advantage, but not essential
